The Role
Found Rental Co. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Inventory Manager. The role is responsible for the effective and accurate management of Found Rental Co.’s extensive, high-value furniture and decor inventory across multiple California warehouse locations. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory integrity, optimizing stock levels, overseeing inter-warehouse transfers, and driving process efficiency to support the company’s fast-paced, high-end event schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust inventory control systems and procedures to ensure 99% accuracy for thousands of rental items.
- Oversee and perform regular cycle counts and comprehensive physical inventories across both California warehouses.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies (damage, loss, shrinkage) in a timely and effective manner, implementing corrective actions.
- Manage the inventory lifecycle, including receiving new assets, preparing items for rental, tracking items out/in from events, and coordinating repair/refurbishment with the in-house shop team.
- Ensure all inventory data (location, condition, quantities) is accurate in the rental management software.
Logistics & Inter-Warehouse Transfers
- Strategically plan and execute the transfer of inventory between the Southern California and Northern California warehouses to meet order demand and balance stock levels.
- Optimize storage layouts and organization within both warehouses to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency for a large, varied inventory.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations, Sales, and Logistics teams to forecast inventory needs based on contract bookings and market trends.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Inventory team, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and safety.
- Develop and deliver effective training programs on inventory control best practices, system usage, and proper handling of luxury rental assets.
- Manage daily staffing, scheduling, and delegation of tasks to meet operation deadlines.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, pinpoint operational bottlenecks, and propose strategies for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
- Generate regular reports on inventory valuation, turnover, shrinkage, and transfer efficiency for executive review.
- Maintain and enforce company-wide safety standards and procedures within the warehouse environment, especially related to equipment handling and furniture movement.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or logistics, with 3+ years in a management/supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing a large, high-volume inventory (preferably in event rentals).
- Expert-level proficiency with Rental Management Software.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and manage cycle count programs and achieve high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem -solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and handling equipment.
- Familiarity with luxury and vintage goods handling and quality control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
